IPTV setup guide for Samsung, LG and Android TVs
Start with your TV model, choose a compatible player and verify the playlist, guide and playback before daily use.
How do you set up IPTV on a Smart TV?
Identify your TV platform, install a compatible playlist player, enter the access details supplied for your trial or plan, and test playback and guide data. Samsung, LG and Android TV use different app stores. A player available on one platform may be unavailable on another model or in another country.
A player is separate from your subscription. Some apps charge an activation fee, and their trial period may differ from the service trial. Confirm both before paying.
Check the TV before installing an app
- 01Find the model number and software version in the TV settings or on its product label.
- 02Check for manufacturer software updates and complete any requested restart.
- 03Confirm the internet connection works in another installed streaming app.
- 04Set the TV date, time and actual region correctly.
- 05Have the supported login format ready, but keep passwords and playlist URLs private.
Samsung, LG or Android TV: use the right store
On Samsung, open the TV app area and search for the player. Follow the install prompt if your model offers that app. On LG, use Apps or LG Content Store depending on the webOS version. LG notes that availability depends on region and model, and that account sign-in, location settings and free storage can affect installation.
On Android TV or Google TV, use the store provided on the device and check the app listing for TV compatibility. An Android phone app is not necessarily designed for a television remote. If your chosen app is missing, ask about a supported alternative for the exact model; do not change the TV region to conceal your location.
Names such as IBO Player and HOT Player may refer to different editions or similarly named products. Match the publisher and the instructions shown inside the installed app.
Which login details should you enter?
- Xtream-style login: use the server address, username and password in their separate fields when the player supports that format.
- M3U playlist: paste the complete supplied address into the playlist URL field; do not split it into separate login fields.
- EPG: add the separate programme-guide URL if your player requires one and support supplies it.
- Device activation: use a device ID or key only through the verified management page displayed by that app.
Avoid common login mistakes
Preserve the server address exactly, including its protocol and port if present. Check for an accidental space, a missing character or a confusion between the letter O and the digit 0. Confirm the trial is active before repeatedly retrying a rejected login.
When transferring a URL from a phone, make sure it has not been shortened or cut off. A URL can contain credentials even if no separate password box is visible. Do not upload it to a public playlist checker.
Test playback and the EPG separately
- 01Allow the initial playlist import to finish before opening categories.
- 02Play a live channel, then a different category to check the import worked.
- 03Test an on-demand title if your access includes one.
- 04Compare sound and picture, and try the subtitle or audio controls you need.
- 05Check programme names and local times in the guide.
- 06Close the app and reopen it to confirm settings are retained.
What should you do if channels or guide data are missing?
If no channels load, first check the login format and account status. If channels play but the EPG is blank, ask whether the guide address is included and whether the channel names match the guide feed. Reload the guide using the player’s instructions; repeatedly reinstalling the app is not a useful first step.
If all programmes are displaced by the same number of hours, review the TV time zone and any EPG offset. Change one setting and check again so you do not correct the same time difference twice.
What if playback freezes?
Compare one failing channel with several others and with another streaming app. If a wired connection is available, use it for a comparison. Follow the buffering guide before resetting the TV. Factory resets can remove accounts and settings and should be reserved for problems that simpler checks have not resolved.
When requesting help, include the TV model, player version, connection type and error text. Hide credentials in screenshots. The manufacturer links below explain device installation; they do not certify any IPTV service or guarantee app availability.
